The Vanderpump Rules alum and Emmy-nominated Love Island USA host has signed on to lead a new sci-fi series, which is a pivot from the reality dating franchise that raised her to stardom. Ariana Madix to star in Seth MacFarlane’s Future Housewives Madix will headline Future Housewives, a Peacock project created by Brannon Braga, the writer-producer behind Star Trek: Voyager. She also takes an executive producer credit through her Over Fences banner. Seth MacFarlane executive-produces via Fuzzy Door Productions with Erica Huggins, reuniting with Braga after their work together on The Orville. Jaron Lanier co-executive-produces, while Fuzzy Door’s Rachel Hargreaves-Heald and Emily Kochman oversee development. Universal Global Television serves as the studio. The series drops Ariana Madix into New Beverly Hills, a wealthy asteroid colony where socialites chase bioengineered beauty treatments, bitter feuds, and interplanetary scandals. Her character, a wide-eyed outsider, comes and disrupts their insulated world, exposing how far the residents have drifted from a society moving past surface-level glamour. The logline frames it as a satirical yet heartfelt reinvention of the reality TV format. That premise makes Future Housewives deemed a natural fit for Madix, who built her career inside the reality genre. Here, though, she plays a scripted role rather than herself. Braga brings serious sci-fi credentials. He has written and produced across multiple Star Trek series and films, The Orville and ABC’s Flashforward, among other projects. Pairing that background with Madix’s reality TV instincts gives the show an unusual hybrid identity. Moreover, the casting continues Madix’s post-Vanderpump Rules expansion. She has appeared on Broadway in Just in Time and Chicago, guested on NBC’s St. Denis Medical and ABC’s Will Trent, and performed in CollegeHumor and Dropout sketches early in her career.
